Work backward from rotation dates

Many rotations begin before a traditional monthly lease and end midmonth. Confirm the exact clinical start, onboarding, and end dates before searching. Include travel days and time needed to settle in.

Prioritize the daily commute

A short rotation does not justify a difficult commute. Check transit schedules, hospital parking eligibility, rideshare availability, neighborhood lighting, and early-morning access. Ask the program whether students rotate between multiple facilities.

Compare private and shared housing

A private apartment offers control and quiet, while a room or home share may reduce cost and provide local support. Clarify kitchen, bathroom, guest, parking, quiet-hour, and shared-space rules before committing.

Protect yourself from urgency scams

Limited inventory can create pressure, but urgency is not proof of legitimacy. Verify the property and owner independently, use a written agreement, and avoid irreversible payment methods.
